The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold a three-day session to assess Afghanistan’s political, security, humanitarian, and economic situation.
During the meeting, the acting head of UNAMA, Georgette Gagnon, a representative from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, and a civil society representative are expected to present reports on the country’s recent developments.
Meanwhile, the Afghan government has stressed that the assessment of Afghanistan’s situation should be based on the country’s real conditions, and it has described some UNAMA reports as one-sided.
