United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that U.S. forces have ended their defensive strikes against Iran.
In a post on the social media platform X, CENTCOM said the operations were conducted in response to the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter.
The command added that the strikes were a “proportional response” to recent attacks on U.S. forces and international commercial vessels transiting regional waters.
According to the statement, U.S. Air Force and Navy fighter jets used precision-guided munitions to target Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM also stressed that U.S. forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to defend against what it described as “unjustified Iranian aggression.”
