UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned during a Security Council meeting that the situation in the Middle East is deteriorating and the possibility of renewed large-scale war is significant.
He said: “The Middle East is being driven deeper into crisis every day, and the consequences will extend beyond the region.”
Guterres added that the recent escalation of attacks could pave the way for the “resumption of full-scale war.”
The UN Secretary-General called on all parties to remain committed to ceasefire agreements and emphasized: “No more attacks! No more excuses!”
