According to CNN, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has traveled to Doha, the capital of Qatar, for talks with Iranian representatives.
Meanwhile, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, said that an Iranian team of experts is also heading to Doha but will not hold direct meetings with U.S. officials.
President Trump stated that Iran had requested the meeting and that it is scheduled to take place in Doha. The White House has confirmed that Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will attend the meeting.
However, Iranian officials have denied reports of any direct or technical talks between Tehran and Washington, calling such reports inaccurate.
