Uzbekistan and Qatar, in a joint meeting, reviewed ways to expand bilateral cooperation and support Afghanistan’s sustainable development.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan stated that Ismatullah Irgashev, the country’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, met with Hassan Hamza Hashim, Qatar’s Ambassador in Tashkent, to discuss cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, transport, logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on regional developments and ways to enhance coordination on issues related to Afghanistan.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Qatar appreciated Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts in supporting Afghanistan’s reconstruction and economic recovery, and considered Uzbekistan’s role important in strengthening stability, regional connectivity, and economic development.
At the end, both sides emphasized the continuation of dialogue, expansion of practical cooperation, and support for initiatives that contribute to peace, economic development, and increased regional connectivity linked to Afghanistan.
