Thousands of people gathered in Rawalakot city of Pakistan-administered Kashmir and began a march toward Muzaffarabad as part of ongoing protests in support of governance and electoral reforms. Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev has said that his country needs agricultural products from Afghanistan and is ready to cooperate in developing production, processing agricultural goods, and implementing joint projects with Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the Islamic Emirate stated in a news release on Monday (August 5) that Khodjaev made these remarks during a meeting with the ministry’s acting minister, Mullah Ataullah Omari. He added that Uzbekistan is interested in investing in Afghanistan’s agricultural sector.
The Afghan Minister of Agriculture also called on Uzbekistan and its investors to take advantage of available opportunities in Afghanistan and invest in agriculture and livestock sectors.
According to the statement, expanding bilateral relations, exploring opportunities in agriculture, livestock, and irrigation, strengthening economic cooperation, and implementing joint projects in these sectors were among the main topics discussed during the meeting.

According to reports, the protests have been ongoing since June, during which more than 45 people have been killed and hundreds of others injured so far. The protesters are demanding changes to the political and electoral system and calling for the implementation of their demands.
