U.S. President Donald Trump has said that if necessary, the United States will carry out a “very severe” bombing campaign against Iran.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump said that Iran’s situation is “very bad,” but emphasized that the U.S. confrontation with Tehran is “going well.” He added that “something will happen” regarding Iran but did not provide further details.
Later, during a cabinet meeting at Camp David, Trump told reporters that the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran still exists. However, he criticized the negotiating approach of Iranian representatives, saying that their actions during the talks had angered him.
The U.S. president also claimed that Iran is currently in a “very bad situation” and that the United States has caused “extensive damage” to the country’s military capabilities.
