The Pakistani army has announced that seven militants and one security personnel were killed in clashes between security forces and armed men in the Hangu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In a statement posted today on its official X account, the Pakistani army said the clash occurred during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the statement, security forces targeted the positions of armed men during the operation, killing seven members of the group known as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”

A 27-year-old Pakistani security officer, Hamza Akram, was also killed during the clash.

The Pakistani army said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead militants, who it alleged had been involved in several attacks against security forces, law-enforcement agencies, and civilians.
