Colombian authorities have announced that the death toll from the earthquake in the country has risen to 265, while more than 3,500 other people have been injured.

International media reported today that nearly 500 people are still missing, and search and rescue operations are continuing among the rubble.

According to reports, more than 9,550 homes were destroyed in several parts of Colombia as a result of the earthquake. The country’s president has also pledged to establish an emergency fund to rebuild damaged hospitals, schools, homes and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, people across Colombia have mobilized to help the affected areas, delivering water, food and other essential supplies. Long queues have also formed at blood donation centers.
