Donald Trump, the Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s National Security Minister, says Israeli forces should kill “30 to 40 people” in Gaza every night and that the scope of the attacks should be expanded across the entire Gaza Strip.
International media reported today that Ben-Gvir made these remarks during a conversation with Rom Braslavsky, a former Israeli hostage in Gaza.
Ben-Gvir also called for targeted assassinations of Palestinians in Gaza, saying: “There are people there who do not deserve to live. They should not remain alive. They are not even human.”
He also opposed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to reduce military attacks in Gaza as part of the current ceasefire.
Ben-Gvir called for the resumption of targeted killings and said such attacks should not be limited only to individuals who are considered an active threat at that particular moment.
Ben-Gvir does not have formal authority over the military and cannot personally order attacks. However, he is a member of Israel’s Security Cabinet, a body made up of senior ministers that plays a role in determining the country’s war and security policies.

Trump wrote today, Monday, August 17 (26 Asad), on the social media platform Truth Social: “The number one goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon in any way, shape, or form.”
This position is consistent with Trump’s previous statements regarding Iran’s nuclear program. The White House has also previously said that the U.S. president has repeatedly emphasized preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
The remarks come as Iran’s nuclear issue remains one of the main points of disagreement between Washington and Tehran, while talks and diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue have faced difficulties.
