Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal says that relations between India and Afghanistan have a long history and that, particularly over the past year, engagement between the two sides has increased.
Jaiswal said at a press briefing that during this period, several officials of the Islamic Emirate travelled to India, while New Delhi also continued its engagement with Kabul.
According to him, in October 2025, India upgraded its technical mission in Kabul to an embassy-level mission and appointed the head of the mission as Chargé d’Affaires.
