Reuters has reported that the latest data on vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz shows that commercial shipping activity along this important maritime route remains at a low level.

According to the report, commercial vessel traffic through the strait has remained limited amid the stalled talks between the United States and Iran and conflicting statements from both sides regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Data from Kepler, a vessel-tracking service, shows that only nine commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, the same number recorded the previous day.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes and plays a crucial role in global energy trade. Any significant decline in shipping activity through the strait could affect international trade, energy transportation and global markets.
