A senior Iranian security official has once again threatened that if what Tehran calls the U.S. “economic war” against Iran continues, oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz and other parts of the Persian Gulf will be halted.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, wrote in an English-language post on the social media platform X that if the economic war continues, “not even a drop of oil” will be exported either through the Strait of Hormuz or from any other point in the Persian Gulf.
He also warned that Iran would consider any country’s participation in or support for the U.S. economic war against the Iranian people as an “act of war.”
The remarks come as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to rise over sanctions and economic pressure.
