Officials from the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced that the construction of a solar-powered water supply network in the village of Haji Mohammad Naeem in Dashte Archi district, Kunduz province, has been completed and is now operational.
Engineer Aminullah Tanweer, a representative of the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, told the Bakhtar News Agency that the water supply network, valued at $145,000, was completed with the technical cooperation of the DAKAR charity organization and under the supervision of the department.
He further explained that the project included the construction of a concrete reservoir, installation of 161 household water taps, solar panel installation, and the drilling of a well. The project took almost a year to complete.
Mawlavi Ismatullah Osama, the district governor of Dashte Archi, said, “Officials of the Islamic Emirate are committed to serving the people and are working tirelessly around the clock to achieve this goal.”
Local residents reported that nearly 400 families live in the village, and they had been facing significant challenges due to the lack of clean drinking water, which caused various diseases. With the implementation of this water supply network, their issues will be resolved.
The residents also expressed gratitude to the officials of the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and the DAKAR charity organization, urging further public welfare projects to be implemented in their areas.
It is also noteworthy that during the implementation of this project, job opportunities were provided for many local residents.
