The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced today (Sunday, March 16) that Afghanistan has conducted exports and imports worth $292 million through air corridors during the current solar year. The trade was carried out via Kabul, Kandahar, and Balkh airports to countries including Austria, Jordan, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, Germany, China, India, and others.
According to the ministry’s statement, Afghanistan’s air corridor trade reached a total value of $292 million this year, with $125 million in exports and $167 million in imports.
The exported goods included dried fruits, saffron, dried and fresh figs, jujube, pine nuts, handicrafts, and other items, while the imports consisted mainly of medicines and electronic equipment.
The ministry previously reported that since the beginning of the solar year up until the end of February, Afghanistan has exported 1,110 tons of pine nuts to several countries.
Over the past 11 months, Afghanistan has earned more than $14 million from pine nut exports, according to the ministry.
