Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, has stated that Kabul and Moscow intend to conduct their bilateral trade in national currencies instead of US dollars.
In an interview with Reuters, Azizi said high-level discussions are ongoing between Russia and Afghanistan’s interim government regarding this matter.
He added that the proposal with Russia is currently under technical review by teams from both sides. According to him, similar talks are underway with the Chinese embassy in Kabul to take a comparable step in trade with China.
