Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, has said that the main reason for the lack of progress in recent talks between Kabul and Islamabad was the “unreasonable demands” of the Pakistani delegation. He emphasized Afghanistan’s commitment to maintaining good relations with Pakistan but warned that any violation of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity would receive a decisive response. Muttaqi reiterated that the Islamic Emirate seeks constructive and friendly relations based on mutual respect. However, he said that if certain parties attempt to carry out projects that undermine this goal, the Islamic Emirate is fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty. He added that Pakistan’s problems are long-standing, but it is now trying to link them to Afghanistan.
