The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has announced that since the beginning of the electronic ID card (e-Tazkira) distribution process, more than 15,018,000 Afghan citizens have received their e-ID cards.

In a statement shared on its X account (formerly Twitter), the NSIA stated that out of this total, 9,076,000 cards were distributed to men and 5,956,000 to women.

The authority added that the highest number of e-ID cards were distributed in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, Balkh, and Kandahar provinces.

According to the NSIA, 9 million Afghan citizens have received e-ID cards after the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan came to power.
