The engineering battalion of the 219th Omar Salis Regiment, stationed in Badakhshan, has undertaken the repair and reconstruction of a two-kilometer secondary road in the second part of Khumchan, located in the provincial center of this region.
Maulvi Mahbubullah Hamed, head of the 219th Omar Salis Regiment, emphasized the regiment’s efforts in ensuring the security of the people and borders. He stated that the Islamic Army also contributes to reconstruction efforts, and with the engineering battalion’s initiative, the transportation challenges faced by hundreds of families and local facilities due to the poor condition of this road will be resolved.
Engineer Mohammad Sediq Khanjari, director of the engineering battalion of the 219th Omar Salis Regiment, added that this secondary road, spanning two kilometers in length and 10 meters in width, connects the regiment’s camp to the main road. The reconstruction work, using the regiment’s machinery and financial resources, is expected to be completed within a week.
Officials from this military organization in Badakhshan also announced that, in addition to repairing the secondary road, they are currently engaged in reconstructing damaged roads in the Jurm and Wakhan districts of the province.
These projects follow the regiment’s previous initiatives to rebuild roads in the districts of Ragh, Argo, Daraim, Baharak, and Teshkan in Badakhshan.
