Today, Wednesday (February 28), the European Union Migration Agency published statistics according to which the number of asylum requests in the member countries of this union increased by eighteen percent in 2023.
The report of this office states that in 2023, one million and four hundred thousand requests for asylum were registered in EU member states.
After 2015 and 2016, when the number of asylum applications in Europe was unprecedented, this is the highest number of asylum applications.
