The Ministry of Public Works says that the Salang highway, which was closed four days ago due to snowfall, was opened for passenger vehicles today (Monday, 14th of August).
By publishing a newsletter, the ministry adds that the thickness of the snow in the tunnel areas has reached nearly 3 meters and so far 29 avalanches have occurred on this highway.
