US President Donald Trump, during his visit to Ireland, said that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is a good friend of his and that everything will go well.
Trump made the remarks in response to a question about Mohammed bin Salman’s request for US assistance in the war against the Houthis.
Asked whether Iran was responsible for the attack on Saudi Arabia’s major East-West oil pipeline, the US president said: “Probably.”
He added that the Houthis had “contacted us.”
Trump said: “They don’t wait to fight us; they keep us informed. They would rather not have us get involved and allow more ships to pass. There is only one country they are not particularly fond of, and we will resolve that issue.”
