Reuters has reported that at least six people have died and 129 others are missing after a passenger ferry capsized in the Java Sea in Indonesia.

According to the report, the vessel had a total of 243 passengers on board, of whom rescue teams have so far rescued 108 people. Search and rescue operations to locate those still missing are continuing.

The report adds that the ferry capsized due to adverse weather conditions and rough seas. Rescue teams are using boats and rescue equipment to continue the search operation in the area.
