In a specialized meeting held in the city of Tashkent, experts and officials discussed the future of the Central Asia–Afghanistan consultative dialogue and its role in strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.

The meeting took place at the International Institute for Central Asia and was organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event was attended by representatives of the Afghan Embassy in Uzbekistan, research centers from both countries, and a number of prominent experts.

Jalol Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia, welcomed the holding of the first round of the consultative dialogue in Kabul, describing it as an important step toward building constructive and pragmatic cooperation between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. He emphasized that the role of think tanks in supporting political dialogue and providing practical recommendations for expanding cooperation is highly significant in advancing regional relations.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdulhai Qanit, Head of Afghanistan’s Center for Strategic Studies, highlighted the role of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in strengthening regional cooperation and promoting an economic approach in relations with Afghanistan. He noted that this approach has paved the way for forming a new pragmatic agenda in regional interactions.

At the end of the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of expanding cooperation, strengthening expert-level dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives.
