Hundreds of Afghan migrant families returned to the country yesterday through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala, and other border crossings from Pakistan and Iran.
According to the High Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Issues, as reported by Bakhtar News Agency, 918 Afghan migrant families—comprising 4,814 individuals—were forcibly returned through Torkham in Nangarhar, Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Islam Qala in Herat, and other entry points from Pakistan and Iran.
The commission added that necessary services were provided to these returnees through committees responsible for registration, verification and reception, transport and relocation, financial affairs, healthcare, and communication.
It also noted that after registration and biometric fingerprinting, the commission distributed cash assistance and SIM cards to the returnees, and took measures to transport them to their respective provinces.
